The Austin McCloud Appellate Court Museum is an Eastland County must-see destination. Located across from the courthouse, this unique museum features engaging exhibits, historic displays, and lively videos showcasing the history of Eastland County, the Eleventh Court of Appeals, and the professional and personal work of the legendary Retired Chief Justice Austin McCloud.
“I hope residents of Eastland County will come and learn more about this special gem,” said Sherry Williamson, Clerk of the Eleventh Court and Museum Curator. “Working with Judge McCloud to create this museum has been 10 years in the making and a true labor of love. We are so proud to share this special place with the community and welcome everyone to stop by for a visit.”
The museum is open every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Visitors frequently mention that they are impressed by the quality exhibits and appreciate the interesting stories they tell. Each display is beautifully crafted and will satisfy a variety of groups including those interested in local history, things uniquely Texas, as well as the judicial process. Guests also enjoy walking through and taking pictures in the beautiful courtroom on the second floor of the historic building. Add this special place to your must-visit list!
